Torrey Pines Landscape Company's focus on community service

tiger behind the wheel

This past Saturday, July 21, we were proud to participate in the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children Truck Day fund raiser. We brought our several of our 'work horses' including our dump truck to the event at Bright Horizons location in Del Mar on Sorrento Rd.  These Truck Day events, which happen nationally,  promote Bright Horizons while raising money for the foundation. There was face painting, snacks and a good time to be had by all. The picture (above) shows a fierce tiger driver named Cheyenne Taggart behind the wheel of our dump truck with Harry Thompson, Torrey Pines Landscape Company's owner, looking on. The picture below shows another young driver who has a few years to go before he can see over the dashboard! Of course, the day wouldn't have been what it was without the participation of our very own 'tiger', Dave Telle who manned the trucks along with Raul for the entire event!

The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children is a nonprofit organization focused on brightening the lives of children, youth, and families in crisis. Many studies have shown that children who are exposed to early education, books, music, and developmentally appropriate toys and games, are far more likely to succeed in life than those who do not have access to educational opportunities.Bright Spaces, the signature program of the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children, creates warm, enriching playrooms in community agencies that give children and families in crisis a special place to learn and have fun. We would like to thank Lynn Campbell, a teacher at the Del Mar preschool, for the invitation to participate in this event & extend our gratitude to all of the Foundations employees for their commitment to the children of our communities all across our country.
